Aviation experience. Spatial intelligence. Practical results.

Aspex Drone Services provides specialist aerial inspection, mapping and monitoring for renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, agriculture and complex assets across Australia.

We combine disciplined aviation, field experience and spatial technology to collect the right data efficiently — and turn it into information clients can actually use.

Built for serious field work

Our work is frequently undertaken on large, active and remote sites where preparation, reliability and efficient mobilisation matter. We plan each operation around the site, the asset and the required outcome rather than forcing every project into the same workflow.

Compact, high-performance aircraft are central to that approach. For the inspection and data-capture work we presently undertake, they are fast to deploy, highly capable and often more efficient than larger platforms. Where a project calls for different aircraft, approvals or operating arrangements, we adapt the operation accordingly.

Renewable energy

Solar farm thermography, RGB inspection, construction monitoring and asset intelligence for utility-scale renewable projects.

Mapping & spatial data

Orthomosaics, photogrammetry, digital elevation models, 3D outputs and repeatable aerial datasets for planning and measurement.

Asset inspection

Detailed aerial imaging for wind turbines, roofs and difficult-to-access assets, supporting maintenance and condition assessment.

Construction & project monitoring

Repeatable aerial capture, progress documentation, site models and visual records designed to fit project reporting workflows.

Agriculture & multispectral

Crop-health, vegetation and field analysis using multispectral imagery, spatial workflows and practical agronomic context.

Experience behind Aspex

Aspex was founded by Kimberly Olsen, whose professional background spans aviation, spatial technology, engineering, construction, environmental science, natural resource management and field operations.

Kimberly has been involved in aviation for more than 40 years, owns two aircraft and has been a flying instructor in the sport of gliding for more than four decades. She has worked with drones since the early years of practical civilian UAV operations and has decades of experience with mapping, spatial data, imaging and field-based technical work.

Her broader career includes technical specialist work with GE, earthworks supervision on the Burdekin River Irrigation Project, mining and minerals exploration, environmental science, precision agriculture, research and sustainable agriculture programs. She has also worked in photojournalism and filmmaking — experience that brings a strong understanding of imaging, observation and visual communication to the business.

That breadth matters. Aspex approaches drone work as an aviation and data-acquisition operation first: understand the job, understand the risks, capture defensible data and deliver an output that is useful to the people making decisions on the ground.

Safety

Disciplined planning, aviation experience and site-specific risk management underpin every operation.

Efficiency

Aircraft, sensors and workflows are selected for the job — not for appearance or unnecessary complexity.

Useful data

The aim is not simply to fly a drone. It is to produce information that supports inspection, engineering, maintenance or operational decisions.

Australia-wide capability

Aspex is based in the Hunter region of New South Wales and mobilises for projects throughout NSW, Queensland, Victoria, the ACT and elsewhere in Australia as required.

From a single asset inspection to a large multi-day site capture, our objective is the same: professional aviation standards, efficient field execution and data that earns its place in your workflow.
